Don’t let your genius get lost in the AI algorithm

Recently, I tried to put on my favourite bright pink workout shirt. But my arm wouldn’t go through the sleeve.

The culprit turned out to be one lone sock jammed in the folded fabric, one I hadn’t seen in months.

And it made me laugh. Because lately, I’ve been noticing how easy it is to feel the same way about AI tools. You’ve got one piece of the system working, but somehow something’s still stuck.

Yes, AI can churn out words at lightning speed. But without your experience, instincts, and voice, all that output isn't even worth a single sock. That content needs its partner. And that partner is you.

Because AI isn’t here to replace your creativity (although it might feel like it right now).

No. It’s here to amplify your creativity.

The magic happens when you blend structure with soul. And by that I mean, using AI for creating solid systems, speeding up your processes, and then bringing in your own judgment for meaning and quality.

If you’ve been hesitating to use AI because it feels too generic or mechanical, I recommend starting small. Try it as a brainstorming partner or an editor that helps you shape ideas faster. Feed it your own examples and tone. Guide it like a creative assistant, not a ghostwriter.

That’s how you keep your work recognisably yours and still save time.

My Black Friday Resource for You

If you want a practical way to pair your creativity with AI, my “Guide to Building Your Own Content Repurposing Assistant” shows you how to create a customised GPT that turns your clients’ podcasts, videos, and blog posts into ready-to-use content.

It’s the same system I use to repurpose my own podcast episodes into shownotes, social posts, blog drafts and more. And you can tailor it to your workflow in under an hour. Perfect for writers who want to offer repurposing as an add-on service (or finally make use of their own back catalogue).

This issue is powered by Descript. It's an AI-powered editing tool that helps creators (including both Treasa and me) keep their human voice front and centre.

With Descript, you can record, edit, and repurpose audio or video content just by editing text. Which is perfect for freelance writers who want to expand into podcasts, tutorials, or short video lessons without learning complex software.

Although I have to confess that I get a little persnickety about exactly how it deals with punctuation. It's probably just me, but I hate seeing bad punctuation roll past in video captions.

But in this case, Descript gets it mostly right. Which means that it's doing the technical lifting. And you bring the story.

So I want to do a quick recap of what we've covered in our November newsletters to you. It was all about what happens between the busy times, those the quiet weeks, the dropped connections (with people, not your internet connection), and the tools that can help you find your rhythm again.

We talked about how to:

  • Turn slow weeks into systems that support future growth.
  • Reconnect with readers and clients before they drift away.
  • Pair AI with your human creativity to work smarter, not harder.

If this month had a headline, it’d be: Small moves, big momentum.

Next month, Treasa is going to take over and she'll be shifting gears toward planning and positioning. So that you can set up your business to start the new year with confidence and focus. Think of it as “December Reset Mode” and things like trimming what doesn’t serve you, doubling down on what does, and mapping your next smart step for 2026.

And that's it for this week.
